Military GeneralEdelmiro Julián Farrell (born February 12, 1887in Avellaneda– died October 21, 1980) was an Argentine soldier, who was "de facto" president of Argentinabetween 1944 and 1946.
Back in Argentina, he became Minister of War, and vice-president during the military government of General Pedro P. Ramírez, who had withdrawn
Arturo Rawsonfrom the presidency. Ramírez named Farrell president on February 251944. On July 1945 Farrell announced presidential elections, in which military Juan Perón was elected. In June 4 1946Farrel left the presidential seat to Perón, to whom he once had been commander while Perón was a colonel.
