Dana Snyder (born November 14, 1973) is an American actor, voice artist, and comedian, best known for playing Master Shake on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force show, and the film Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters[1], both part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim franchise.

Early life

Dana Snyder was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania[2] on Novemeber 14, 1973 and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada[3]. He credits Don Rickles, Rip Taylor and Phil Silvers as childhood influences.[4] Snyder graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1992[5] and graduated with a BFA from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, Missouri in 1996.[6][7]

Career

Voice Acting

Snyder was hired to voice Master Shake on Aqua Teen Hunger Force / Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1,[8] without auditioning, based solely on his speaking voice during a phone call to Dave Willis.[9] Snyder also provided the voice of Gazpacho on Chowder, Todd and Benny Lee on the G4TV show Code Monkeys, "The Alchemist" on The Venture Bros., and Granny Cuyler on Squidbillies[10]. He also lent a guest voice as Leonard in The Penguins of Madagascar and plays a teacher named "Mr. Baldwin" on the Disney series Fish Hooks. [11][12] He played Alister the Argentinean Camelid in the 2011 film Open Season 3.[13][14] Snyder has provided the voice of Sam in the web series Suicide by Side[15] [16] He also narrated the Adult Swim web series "Sipes Stories" that he co-produced with Andy Sipes.[17]

Stage Acting

On April 15, 2010 Snyder and Dave Willis went on a multi-city[18] tour entitled "Dave & Dana: Stars of Aqua Teen!".[19][20][21] In June 2010 Snyder appeared as Max Bialystock in the Lyceum Theatre's production of Mel Brooks' The Producers in Arrow Rock, Missouri[22]. In February and March 2011 Snyder again played Max Bialystock in The Producers at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach Florida.[23] Snyder has also appeared in the Lyceum Theatre 2011 productions of Run For Your Wife[24], Damn Yankees and The Sound of Music[25] and has appeared in other United States regional theaters including Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and The Cleveland Playhouse.[26] He was also a guest performer during several performances of the Atlanta based burlesque revue "Dames Aflame" in 2010.[27]

Film and Television

Snyder has made Guest appearances on E.R.[28], Brothers and Sisters[29] & Gary Unmarried.[30][31]\ He appeared in the Cartoon Network live action shows Saul of the Molemen[32][33] and The Young Person's Guide to History.[34]

Podcast

Snyder co-hosts the Ken P.D. Snydecast with Ken "Plumey" Plume, which is a free podcast produced out of Plume's Fred Entertainment[35] The first episode of the show appeared on the internet on January 11, 2006. [36] The show was initially produced out of IGN[37] and is produced out of Fred Entertainment. [38] The show originally followed a "weekly" episode distribution [39] but has been more sporadic in later years. [40]. In addition to Snyder and Plume, guests have included Doc Hammer, Paul Sabourin and Jay Wade Edwards. [41]

Personal life

He married Christine "Sweety" Snyder (née Ciccone) in August of 2005.[42] His wife has made several appearances on his podcast. He also has one brother.
