Major crops grown around this region include tobacco, chili, and cotton all are cultivated and paddy, vegetables, Lemon, guvva, coconut, banana etc. Irrigation water is provided through the Rayapudi Lift Irrigation and Tulluru Lift Irrigation Projects.

Language and Festivals

Telugu is the main language of communication in the Town. One of the earliest/purest forms of Telugu language can be noticed in this region. Other languages such as Hindi and English are also used with in the Town to some extent.
