The "Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply" (CIPS) is a UK based international organisation working for the purchasing and supply professions. It promotes good practice and provides services for the benefit of members and the wider business community.

CIPS aims to promote and develop high standards of professional skill, ability and integrity among all those engaged in purchasing and supply chain management. CIPS assists individuals, organisations and the profession as a whole.

Developing the ‘art and science’ of purchasing and supplyDeveloping the body of knowledge of the purchasing and supply management function. Supporting academic research and consultating with some of the world’s leading organisations, to visualise the future of leading edge practice.

Continuously improving the professional standards of practitionersTo promote and maintain high standards of professional skill, ability and integrity amongst all practitioners engaged in purchasing and supply management. Using a professional qualifications programme and associated membership standard, along with public access training and a range of learning resources. Our members are bound by a code of conduct and are encouraged to make a lifelong commitment to their own professional development.

Promoting excellence in organisationsHelping organisations achieve and maintain the high standards, throughout their purchasing and supply management operations. Supporting organisations from staff training, to improving performance through assessment and accreditation of purchasing and supply methods, and sharing of best practice.

Representing the interests and views of individuals within the professionSpecial interest member groups to get and share views and knowledge with the wider community. Shaping Government and European Commission policy on procurement; and representing members’ views at the highest level.

CIPS Australia is the peak body for the procurement profession in Australia. CIPS Australia exists to help procurement professionals to excel - via practical skills development, career enhancement and networking opportunities, as well as assisting organisations to achieve international best practice. CIPS Australia also works in a variety of ways to raise the profile of the profession in Australia.

CIPS Australia is the peak industry body for the procurement profession in Australia and New Zealand. With almost 2,500 members in Australia and New Zealand, it is dedicated to promoting best-practice, continuous improvement in professional standards and raising awareness of the contribution that procurement and supply management can make to organisations.

CIPS Australia is a subsidiary and delivery arm of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, the international body serving the procurement and supply profession and one of the world's largest providers of specialist training in all aspects of procurement and supply. CIPS has around 45,000 members from 138 countries around the world consisting of leading business people, professional managers, academics and people working in the purchasing and supply chain arena.

Mandated to act in the public interest and for the benefit of the procurement profession as a whole, CIPS Australia aims to benefit the procurement profession by:
