"Au cœur du stade" (meaning "At the Heart of the Stadium") is a live album by Canadian singer Céline Dion, released on August 27 1999. It's her 4th live album, 20th French album and 25th in total.

Album information

"Au cœur du stade" was recorded at the Stade de France in Paris, during two sold-out performances on June 19 and 20, 1999. These performances made concert history as Dion became the very first to draw audiences in excess of 90,000 spectators at a single show for a grand total of 180,000 in only two nights.

Most of the songs on this album are live versions of tracks originally recorded for "S'il suffisait d'aimer". "Au cœur du stade" contains also some of singer's early French songs ("Ce n'était qu'un rêve," "D'amour ou d'amitié," "Mon ami m'a quittée") and few English-language tracks, including "Let's Talk About Love" and "My Heart Will Go On." Medley acoustique (track nine) is five different songs, each of which could have stood alone as its own track, especially "Un garçon pas comme les autres (Ziggy)" which clocks in at over three minutes.

The CD does not contain the full show. All songs can be found on the "Au cœur du stade" DVD, also released in 1999. "Au cœur du stade" was recorded during the European leg of the Let's Talk About Love Tour.

The album was promoted with "Dans un autre monde" live video.

Chart success

"Au cœur du stade" hit number 1 for four weeks in Switzerland, two weeks in France and one week in Belgium Wallonie. It has sold 600,000 copies in France being certified 2x platinum, 50,000 copies in Switzerland (platinum), Belgium (platinum) and Canada (gold), and 10,000 copies in Portugal (silver). Total sales exceeded 1.5 million copies worldwide.
