Play Modes
As a new feature usable with the Monopoly Party game, players can choose from either of two play modes: Classic Mode or Party Mode.
Classic Mode
In this mode, gamers can play the original Monopoly board game. Players take turns, and game-play follows the Official Rules.
Party Mode
In Party Mode, participants all roll the dice at the same time, and tokens then move simultaneously to their destination. Most Classic Mode rules apply, but debts are assessed from richest to poorest. This, however, this can be changed in the Custom Rules menu. Games in Party Mode usually progress faster than games in Classic Mode.
Themes
Players can also choose from five different themes: Classic, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Pre-Historic, or Ancient Monuments. In all themes you can choose currency: US Dollar ($), UK Pound (£}, or the European Euro (€).
Classic
This is the classic version of the board, with all the regular tokens. While using this theme you can select from a variety of property names like: US, UK, German, French, Spanish, or Italian. This feature is only available with the Classic theme.
Sci-Fi
This is a futuristic-like board with a large spaceship in the center. Tokens include a Ground Rover (like a Rover), a robot, a UFO, and an astronaut. Boardwalk is replaced with the Milky Way and Park Place is replaced with Andromeda.
Fantasy
This board is guarded by tall towers and creatures of all types in the center. Tokens include a dwarf, an elf, a wizard, and a knight.
Pre-Historic
The Pre-Historic board is centered around a watering hole with the occasional dinosaur drinking from it. Pre-Historic tokens include: a caveman, a Woolly Mammoth, and a saber-toothed tiger.
Ancient Monuments
If a player chooses the Ancient Monuments theme, they can find many famous architectural wonders, such as the Great Pyramids, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Roman Coliseum, and Stonehenge. Some of the tokens are a Roman sandal, Egyptian skiff, an Urn, and a camel.
