Daniele Gastaldello (born 25 June 1983 in Camposampiero) is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender for Serie B club Sampdoria.

Club career

Gastaldello was bought by Juventus F.C. in 2002 from Serie C2 side Calcio Padova; in that season he played in the Primavera squad. In 2003 season he was involved in Nicola Legrottaglie transfer. He was sold to Chievo along with Matteo Paro and Giuseppe Sculli.[1] he was loaned to Crotone in January 2004. In 2005, he was bought back, but Juventus sold him in co-ownership to Siena for €450k.[2] Matteo Paro was also joined Siena. In 2007 Gastaldello was bought by Sampdoria by Juventus bought Siena half for €650k and sold to Sampdoria for €1.25M.

On 5 March 2010, Gastaldello extended his contract with Sampdoria until 2014.[3] Partnered with Stefano Lucchini, they finished as the 4th with team in 2009-10 season. In 2010-11 season, he often partnered with Massimo Volta in 2010–11 UEFA Europa League and Lucchini in the domestic.

International career

He received his first call-up for Italy senior team on 28 August 2010.[4] On 29 March 2011 he made his debut in the friendly match against Ukraine in Kiev.
