Auburn/Lewiston Municipal Airport, Airport codes|LEW|KLEW in Auburn, Maine, United States, is a public airport. It has two runways, averages 89 flights per day, and has approximately 63 aircraft based on its field. [http://www.airnav.com/airport/LEW AirNav.com: LEW] , "AirNav.com", 2006, accessed August 4, 2006.] The airport is currently not served by any commercial airline, though scheduled service once served the airport on Air New England, Northeast Express Regional Airlines, and Bar Harbor Airlines. The airport was the site of a fatal accident on the latter of those airlines, killing "America's Youngest Ambassador" Samantha Smith.
