"E.B.E." was the seventeenth episode of the first season of "The X-Files" science-fiction television series created by Chris Carter. The title "E.B.E." stands for "Extraterrestrial Biological Entity". This was the first episode of "The X-Files" to feature the recurring characters of 'The Lone Gunmen'.

Plot

Mulder and Scully receive information from Deep Throat about a UFO that was shot down over Iraq and has been secretly transported to the U.S. However, Deep Throat then intentionally misleads the agents to prevent them from discovering the truth.

Morgan's and Wong's episode "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man" links to parts of this episode - for example, Deep Throat mentions he was one of the few to kill an E.B.E, which is later shown in "Musings".
