World Conservation Award

The World Conservation Award, sometimes colloquially known as the "purple panda",Fact|date=February 2007 is issued by many of the national Scout associations affiliated to the World Organization of the Scout Movement, and was created in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund, partially in response to the rise in popularity of Green Scouting, at some time prior to 1977. Different countries have set different standards or criteria in order for Scouts to receive this award.

Boy Scouts of America

The World Conservation Award is a badge awarded to Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America when they have completed the [http://www.usscouts.org/usscouts/mb/mb007.html Environmental Science] , [http://www.usscouts.org/usscouts/mb/mb004.html Citizenship in the World] , and either [http://www.usscouts.org/usscouts/mb/mb106.html Soil and Water Conservation] or [http://www.usscouts.org/usscouts/mb/mb051.html Fish and Wildlife Management] merit badges.

Background colors have been amber, mint green, black and now tan.
