Toastmaster (appliances)

Toastmaster started out in 1926 as the name of one of the world's first automatic electric toasters for home use, the [http://www.toaster.org/tm1a1_pamphlet.html Toastmaster Model 1-A-1] . Since then the Toastmaster brand has been used on a wide range of small kitchen appliances , such as coffee makers, waffle irons, toasters, and blenders.

From 1928 until 1980, the brand was owned by McGraw Electric, renamed to McGraw-Edison in 1957. Following a leveraged buyout in 1980, the brand changed hands several times and finally went public in 1992 as Toastmaster, Inc. The company, headquartered in Boonville, Missouri, USA, was acquired by Salton, Inc., in 1999.
