United States presidential election in North Carolina, 2004
- United States presidential election in North Carolina, 2004
North Carolina was the homestate of John Edwards, Democratic nominee for vice-president, who was then representing the state in the United States Senate. This was not enough for Democrats to break Republican success in this state since the 1976 presidential election of Jimmy Carter.
President Bush won the state by a margin of 13% against John F. Kerry, a result almost identical to 2000.
