Bryan Joseph "Bugsy" Watson (born
November 14 ,1942 inBancroft, Ontario ) is a retiredCanadian ice hockey player. He played the position of defenceman.Watson began his NHL career with the
Montreal Canadiens , and has also played with theDetroit Red Wings , Oakland Seals,Pittsburgh Penguins , St. Louis Blues, andWashington Capitals . He finished his playing career with theCincinnati Stingers of theWorld Hockey Association . After a very brief coaching career with theEdmonton Oilers , his association with hockey ended. In 878 NHL games, Watson scored 17 goals, had 135 assists, and amassed 2,212 penalty minutes. His aggressive playing earned him the nickname "Bugsy".Today, Watson runs a sports bar called Bugsys in
Alexandria, Virginia , a suburb ofWashington, D.C. , which is frequented byWashington Capitals fans during the NHL season.Awards & Achievements
