Henry Sinclair, 1st Earl of Orkney by his wife Jean, daughter of John Halyburton of Dirleton, and succeeded his father in1404 . In about1407 he married Egidia Douglas, daughter ofSir William Douglas of Nithsdale and maternal granddaughter of KingRobert II of Scotland ; they were the parents ofWilliam Sinclair, 3rd Earl of Orkney , and Beatrix Sinclair, who marriedJames Douglas, 7th Earl of Douglas .
