Kakrala is a city and a municipal board in Badaun district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Geography

Kakrala is located at coord|27.9|N|79.2|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/36/Kakrala.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Kakrala] ] . It has an average elevation of 160 metres (524 feet).

At present the chair man of Kakrala is Mrs Parven Muslim and her husband Mr Muslim Khan is present M.L.A. from Ushait.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Kakrala had a population of 32,380. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kakrala has an average literacy rate of 43%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 48%, and female literacy is 37%. In Kakrala, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The population of Kakrala is 98% Muslim. Most of the people belong to a Rajput tribe called Bhatti. They had come from Bhatner (now Hanumangarh), the city founded by Raja Bhatti.
