Balad (Somali: Balcad) is a town in the Middle Shabelle region of Somalia. It located about 30 kilometers north of the capital city of Mogadishu in the direction of Jowhar. The town is dominated economically by the Mataan Abdulle (Abgal) and Da'ud clans.
