The Venture Capital Journal, or VCJ, is a monthly glossy magazine that covers investment trends, financing techniques and private equity personalities. The magazine, founded in 1961, focuses on venture capital and features expert analysis and commentary. Top venture capitalists who have been featured in VCJ include Jim Breyer, John Doerr, William Henry Draper III, Timothy C. Draper, Pitch Johnson, Vinod Khosla, Ray Lane, Michael Moritz, Tom Perkins Lip-Bu Tan, Arthur Rock, Heidi Roizen, Paul Wythes, and Don Valentine.

VCJ, based in San Francisco, is a division of Thomson Financial, an arm of The Thomson Corporation. It is published by Jim Beecher and edited by Lawrence Aragon, the onetime Venture Capital Editor for Red Herring magazine. The editorial staff is comprised of Alastair Goldfisher (California CEO magazine), Alexander Haislip (Red Herring), Joanna Glasner (Wired News), Connie Loizos (San Jose Mercury News) and Dan Primack, who also writes the daily PE Week Wire. The staff of VCJ also produces Private Equity Week and Private Equity Hub. The yearly subscription cost is $1,680.
