Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School (Vancouver) is the "steward school" of Ideal Mini School which is located a few blocks away. Although Ideal Mini School does not have its own principal and is funded by Churchill Secondary, it runs as a separate school under the leadership of head teacher Mr. Jim King.

An application test covering both IQ and EQ is required to be eligible to attend Ideal Mini School.Fact|date=September 2007 There are 6 classrooms in the school, which is currently attended by 115 students. Students at Ideal may join elective classes, sports teams, theatre programs or clubs at Churchill Secondary.

Ideal differs from Churchill (other than for its size), because of its Integrated Arts Program. Ideal is a small school that is very personalized and offers an intimate and creative environment where teachers and students are treated as equals. Ideal offers an informal teaching style where the teachers are addressed by their first names and trust is highly regarded. Integration among grades, artistic expression and diplomacy is extremely common and definitely promoted.
