RS300

RS300

The RS300 is a modern racing sailing dinghy made by RS, who also make many other dinghies. The RS300 is a one-design, single-handed, hiking dinghy with a PY (Portsmouth Yardstick, RYA) of 1000, making it the fastest dinghy of its category.

Designed by Clive Everest first produced in 1998 it is thought to be based on the International Moth, of which Everest was a successful designer. It has won many awards including "British Sailboat of the Year" in 1998, as well as getting recognised as a "Millennium Project".

It has been described as “…one of the most challenging and exciting dinghies I have ever sailed…”, as well as “…the first boat that I have sailed that is a joy just to sail around the course let alone race…” by Steve Cockerill, Y&Y Aug 2000, a renowned sailor who is past and present UK champion in many classes, including the RS300, Blaze & Laser Radial.

Rig

The RS300 is a cat rigged boat, meaning it only has a mainsail. There are two rigs for the boat. Rig A is slightly smaller than rig B.
