History
AS Trenčín was established in 1992 as Ozeta Trenčín and started in the third division of the Czechoslovak competition and ended one place below the traditional team TTS Trenčín. Later the club spent three season (1994-1997) in the second division in Slovakia.[1] Since 1997 Trenčín continuously played in the Slovak first division. The club's biggest success so far is 4th place in the 1997-98 season. Trenčín also made 4 appearances in the Intertoto Cup (1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002). It is owned by former Dutch international Tscheu La Ling.[2] After 11 seasons in the top level the club was relegated after the 2007-08 season.[1]
