Ellerbe Becket is a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based employee-owned firms that is one of the world's largest architectural firms. Other offices are located in Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO, San Francisco, CA and Washington, DC. International locations include Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Doha, Qatar.

In the 2007 fiscal year the firm had an annual revenue of $70 million. The firm currently employs 475 employees based in 7 different locations and three different countries. The firm has designed buildings in all 50 states and in 20 different countries.

In addition to architectural design areas of expertise include engineering, interior design and construction services.

History

The company originally called Ellerbe Associates was founded by Franklin Ellerbe in 1909 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Its first clients included the Mayo Clinic and 3M. Thomas Ellerbe took over the company in 1921 upon his father's death. When he retired in 1966 it became an employee-owned company. In 1987 it merged with Welton Becket of Los Angeles and became Ellerbe Becket. In 1988 it opened a sports design division in Kansas City.
