Makedonski Brod ( _mk. Македонски Брод) is a municipality in eastern Republic of Macedonia, named after the town of Makedonski Brod, where the municipal seat is located. Makedonski Brod municipality is part of Southwestern statistical region.

Geography

The municipality borders Želino municipality and Brvenica in the north, Studeničani and Sopište in the northeast, Čaška and Dolneni in the southeast, Kruševo and Vraneštica in the south, Plasnica and Oslomej in the southwest and Gostivar in the northwest.

Demographics

By the August 2004 territorial division of Macedonia, the rural Samokov municipality was attached to Makedonski Brod municipality, which then totaled 7,141 inhabitants.
