Beyond the Veil (festival)

Beyond the Veil is a goth music festival in Leeds, West Yorkshire. UK.

The festival is organised by GOG Promotions, who try to book bands not normally seen on the UK circuit, and specialise in showcasing bands from outside the UK. Line ups often include several UK debuts and other exclusive shows such as the UK debuts of Psydoll and ASP. The format of the festival is a special Black Veil club night on Saturday night at the Golden Lion Hotel followed by bands and stalls on Sunday at The Cockpit. Reduced hotel room rates were available for those with tickets in 2006. The 2007 festival took place on the 7th and 8th of April.

History

The festival has been an annual event held over Easter weekend every year since 2003. Between 2003 and 2005 it took place at the Metropole Hotel, a Victorian hotel in central Leeds, notable for its ornate red brick facade. In 2006 the venue changed to its current homes of The Cockpit and the Golden Lion Hotel.

The festival will be taking a break in 2008, but will return in 2009.
