Lisnadill

Lisnadill is a small village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 54 people. It is situated within the Armagh City and District Council area.

Places of interest

The Drumconwell Ogham Stone stood in the townland of Drumconwell, 3 miles south of Armagh near to Lisnadill Church on the ancient route way to Armagh and Navan. It can now be seen in the Robinson Library in Armagh.

People

*Frederick Francis Maude, born in Lisnadill on December 20, 1821 was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross. On 5 September 1855 at Sebastopol, Crimea, he took part in the assault on the Redan. He held a position with only nine or ten men and did not retire until all hope of support was at an end and he himself was dangerously wounded, for which he received the Victoria Cross.
