Wielbark (Pomeranian Voivodeship)

Wielbark (Pomeranian Voivodeship)

Wielbark (IPA2|ˈvʲɛlbark; Audio-de|Willenberg|Willenberg.ogg) is a village in Poland, in the Pomeranian Voivodship, in Malbork County, in Malbork Commune, about 4 km south of Malbork ("Marienburg") on the road towards Sztum ("Stuhm").

In 1873, a cemetery of the ancient Braunswalde-Willenberg-Kultur (after 1945 also referred to as Wielbark culture) was discovered not far from the village Braunswalde near Willenberg and Marienburg in Prussia.

The place is not to be confused with another Wielbark, also until 1945 Willenberg in East Prussia.
