Background

The album reflects Paulini as a performer and a music lover and has a diverse collection of songs that have a variety of genres; covers and originals. She states "Because I did so many styles on Idol, people kept saying, are you going to come out with something like Beyonce, or are you going to come out with something like Mariah? This album is very different. I love R&B but I love to sing other stuff, like old soul and funk. I'm just happy that I've got all different styles on the album - it's about who I am, because I enjoy singing every musical genre."[1] She also states "I absolutely love those songs [on the album]. I just wanted to try and do something different to them. They were a little hard, because the artists are so good. I basically just sung them the way I would sing them, with my kind of tone, so that listeners would instantly know it was me."[2]

The album debuted on the ARIA Albums Chart on 30 July 2004 at number-one[3] It stayed at number-one for two weeks and had gone gold selling about thirty-five thousand copies around Australia.
