Japan

*Route 3 (Shibuya Line) of the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo
*Tomei Expressway, Tokyo to Nagoya [Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, [http://www.unescap.org/ttdw/Publications/TIS_pubs/pub_2303/Full%20version.pdf 2003 Asian Highway Handbook] , 2003, page 54 shows an aerial photo of the Yokohama Aoba Interchange, placing AH1 clearly on the Tomei Expressway rather than the other Tokyo-Nagoya expressway, the Chūō Expressway.]
*Meishin Expressway, Nagoya to Osaka via Kyoto
*Chūgoku Expressway, Osaka to Shimonoseki
*Kanmonkyo Bridge, Shimonoseki to Kitakyushu
*Kyūshū Expressway, Kitakyushu to Fukuoka
*Routes 4 and 1 of the Fukuoka Expressway in FukuokaFrom Fukuoka, AH1 takes the Camellia Line ferry to Pusan, South Korea. The Japan-Korea Tunnel has been proposed to provide a fixed crossing.
