C.M. Guerrero is a photojournalist based in
Miami, Florida , USA, and works forEl Nuevo Herald , the Spanish-language daily associated with The Miami Herald. Born in Santiago de Cuba, his family moved to Miami 1961, where he grew up and currently lives. Guerrero attended the Art Institute and has won over 60+ national awards including the prestigiousGeorge Polk Award (1993) and thePulitzer Prize for Public Service (1993) for team coverage ofHurricane Andrew while working forThe Miami Herald . His work has been published in numerous publications includingNational Geographic , Time,Newsweek and Vanity Fair. Guerrero, along with Giselle Balido, authored the book "CubanTime: A Celebration of Cuban Life in America", featuring images and text of Miami's Cuban community, culture and traditions (Published by Silver Lining Books, N.Y., New York, 2001- 240 pages, Hardcover). He is also the co-creator of theMr. Milo series of children's books. Guerrero views the world as if he's looking through a viewfinder of a camera.
