The Arutani-Sape are an endangered language familycite book|last=Weinstein|first=Jay A. |title=Social and Cultural Change: Social Science for a Dynamic World|publisher=Rowman & Littlefield|date=2005-02-28|pages=p94|isbn=0742525732|url=http://books.google.com/books?id=wwDfXLLM-fsC&pg=PA94&dq=Arutani&as_brr=3&ei=gtuHSPebBIqeswPw0f3EDg&sig=ACfU3U1w9TUAusk8AQh3_VfYsOLhGYKDOw] that includes two languages which are mainly spoken in Brazil and Venezuela. They are almost extinct. They are only distantly related, but Kaufman (1990) finds the connection convincing.
