Sandoy , part of theFaroe Islands . As stated in the clubs rules and regulation, its main objective is "to promote interest in sports and to work to get sports on its feet on the island". B71 is an amateur club, i.e. all adult players have civilian jobs.At the moment though, the only available sport to play for B71 is
football , partly due to the lack of facilities. The club was founded in January 1970, but didn't start playing football until 1971, hence the name. The first couple of years went by without noticability. It wasn't until the late 80's that B71's infamous counter attack football really shone. They became division champions in1986 ,1988 ,1989 , and eventually Cup winners in 1993. Prominent players at that time included local legends such as:Torbjørn Jensen ,Eli Hentze and brothers Róin and Jóan Petur Clementsen. The only one still playing for B71 today from the 1989 team is current chairman Eli Hentze.B71 continues to be the glue that holds the island of Sandoy together and sometimes causing much controversy, but it still remains the pride and joy of all the people of Sandoy.Fact|date=February 2008
