Ján Kozák (footballer born 1980)

Ján Kozák (born April 22, 1980) is a Slovak footballer who was on loan to the FA Premier League club West Bromwich Albion from Artmedia Bratislava. He has also represented the Slovakian national team.

A midfielder, Kozák joined Bratislava in the year 2003, winning the Corgoň Liga with the club the very next season, 2004-05. He scored 7 goals in 34 appearances in the season.

In 2005-06, he played in 11 matches for the club, scoring 3 goals, before moving to Albion in January 2006. He made his debut for Albion on February 4, 2006, coming on as a substitute for Geoff Horsfield in the Premier League match against Blackburn Rovers. He wasn't considered good enough for the then manager Bryan Robson to sign, so left at the end of his loan spell. He has recently been linked with a move to Plymouth Argyle, of the Coca Cola Championship, as a replacement for midfielder Akos Buzsaky, who has recently joined QPR. It is believed that manager Paul Sturrock is prepared to take Kozak on trial with a view to a 2 year deal.He was also in negotiation with first division team Moss FK from Norway. However it was provenFact|date=February 2008 that Kozak and his manager used Moss FK in a game to push up the sallary in the negotiation with Artmedia. He signed a new deal with them recently.
