In the school year beginning September 2007, a new campaign, improving standards has been initiated at the school by the senior leadership team. This has resulted in a tidier, more respected image of the school through the tightening up of uniform regulations and stricter rules on punctuality.
Prefects
On the 27th June 2008 it was announced that the new Head Boy and Head Girl would be Jon Richardson and Felicity Sullivan, with Laura Gray and Richard Daglish as Deputies.
The rest of the senior prefect team includes Rebecca Cash, Katie Bagnall, David Keenlyside, Charlotte Lore, Liz Grand, Carmen Walker, Danny Robinson, Catharine White, Rachel Poupard, Rebecca Lines, Zeshan Tariq, Daisy Fisher, Luke Hazelton, Sophy Cooke, Sarah Harrington and Bianca Bayley.
Facilities
Currently, construction of a new 'Maths and Music' block is taking place on site. This will replace the four mobile classrooms dotted around the school. The main school reception will be moved to where the music department currently exist, with the old reception to be transformed into a new 'pastoral area'. Construction is going fairly well, although it is unknown to students whether the new block will be completed for the new term in September 2008.
The school has recently tried to secure funding for a new sports hall due to a current lack of facilities, however county have refused funding due to budget constraints.
On the 19 May 2008, there was a fire at the school that caused minor damage to one classroom. Following a seamless evacuation of the school, the fire brigade were called, pronouncing the buildings safe upon arrival.
Rival Schools

Sir John Lawes School , both in Harpenden. Roundwood Park has competition with both of these schools.Charity Work
In March 2008, the school revealed its new water scheme, supporting water charities working in Africa. This is further to the already extensive charitable work done by students, which include sponsoring children in the third world through the charity World Vision and large support of local charities.
Anti-Bullying
Roundwood Park has recently introduced an anti-bullying system. It involves training up pupils to become 'Standby Student Counsellors' who can offer support and advice to victims of bullying. The school has received several awards for this scheme.Fact|date=September 2007
