Begur is a village in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is in the state capital Bangalore. It is off Bangalore-Hosur highway. It is said to have been a prominent place during the rule of the Chola Kingdom. A historical tank and a beautiful old temple(Naganatheshwara temple) dating back almost 1200 years can be seen there along with a broken old fortress which is the home of another temple. The temples are between 1 and 2 km apart. The main idol is that of lord Shiva. On the eve of Shivaratri devotees perform pujas and stay awake the whole night. In the month of April there is a car festival visited by many people. This place is yet to get a mark as a tourist destination due to improper transport facilities and roads. Transport is mainly by BMTC buses and autos. Transportation facilities to this village is not a problem as Bangalore's BMTC buses arrives and departures every 5 min to all parts of the city.

There are 5 major roads that connect Begur to rest of Bangalore.

* The Begur - Jigani road is supposed to be a 80 feet road.

* Begur to Hosur road via AECS (HAL) layout.

* Begur to Bannerghatta road via Hulimavu.

* Begur to Bommanahalli via Hongasandra.

* Begur to Electronic City via Bettadasanapura.
