Aniston was born on the island of
Crete , the son of Stella and Anthony Anastassakis. His father anglicized his name when he emigrated to theUnited States when he was two, and his parents opened a restaurant inChester, Pennsylvania . He has two sisters and was a member of theAlpha Chi Rho fraternity.He graduated from
Pennsylvania State University with abachelor's degree in Theater Arts, served in theUnited States Navy as an intelligence officer on active duty inPanama and later in the reserve, attaining the rank ofLieutenant Commander .He had his daughter,
Jennifer Aniston , with his first wife,Nancy Dow (from whom he was later divorced), and also has a son, Alexander, from his second wife, Sherry Rooney Aniston. Hisbest friend was the late actorTelly Savalas .Career
He is familiar to fans of daytime television; he has appeared in soap operas almost continually since 1975, when he joined the cast of "
