"Frijid Pink" is the debut album by Detroit rock band Frijid Pink. It was released in early 1970, under the now-defunct Parrot Records label.

Initial reception

Late 1969, Frijid Pink's distorted cover of "House of the Rising Sun" was released as a single. The song soon soared to Top Ten on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (#7 in February, 1970), selling over a million copies. The band followed up their success by releasing debut, self-titled LP early 1970. Good result was reached (#11), but did not measure up to the fame from their hit single. Their following LP, "Defrosted", garnished even less success (#149).

Track listing errors

The album was released on German CD (1991, Repertoire Records) including two bonus tracks ("Heartbreak Hotel" and "Music For The People") that were originally released as singles in 1970 and 1971, respectively. One of the CD later re-releases, being the most widely distributed copy, had no two tracks (## 5 and 6) of nine tracks of the original LP printed in the track listing on the cover, and some CD sources adopted it to repeat.
