Pamba originates at Pulachimalai hill in the Peerumedu
plateau in theWestern Ghats at an altitude of 1650 metres and flows throughRanni ,Pathanamthitta ,Thiruvalla ,Changanassery ,Kuttanad andAmbalappuzha Taluks and finally empties into theVembanad Lake . This river enriches thePathanamthitta ,Alappuzha districts of Kerala state.Kuttanad , an importantrice cultivating area inKerala gets the irrigation water from the Pamba river. The Pamba basin is bounded on the east by theWestern Ghats . The river shares its northern boundary with theManimala River basin, while it shares the southern boundary with theAchankovil River basin.ee also
