Saint Kentigern College is an independent, co-educational Presbyterian secondary school in the Pakuranga suburb of Manukau City in the Auckland Region of New Zealand, standing on the estuary of the Tamaki Estuary. It is the partner of Saint Kentigern School in Remuera. Established in 1953, the college is divided into separate single-sex middle school for years 7 and 8, with years 9 and 10 single sex in core subjects and a co-educational senior school for years 11-13.

Kentigern (or Mungo) is the patron Saint of Glasgow. In 2003, they introduced girls into the school for the first time with 140 female students. There are now over 540 female students attending, with numbers increasing every year. Saint Kentigern has a reputation for educational excellence and sporting prowess, and is consistently ranked amongst the top schools in New Zealand.Fact|date=January 2008

Saint Kentigern has opened one of the first golfing academies as a part of its overall school curriculum. Saint Kentigern College's information technology programme is considered to be one of New Zealand's top 100 IT environments. Fact|date=January 2008

Saint Kentigern College has joined the IB Diploma Programme, with a decision which was made in late 2006. The option between it and NCEA will be given to students in Year 12 from 2009.

It has been revealed that Saint Kentigern College Executive Head Warren Peat will be leaving at the end of 2008 to become headmaster of John Paul College, near Brisbane, Australia. He stated that there was "An offer he couldn't refuse". It has not been decided who will take his place as Executive Head in 2009. Curriculum

Middle School

Year Seven and Eight

*All students take: English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Technology, The Arts, Christian Education (for half the year) and a language which as a core class they take for a term, these languages are: French, Latin, Japanese and formerly Māori, and Christian Education.

Year Nine

*All students take: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, PE, Health, Technology and Christian Education

*Students also select one language and two art subjects.

Year Ten

*All students take: English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, PE, Health and Christian Education.

*Students also select two technology courses and two full year alternative courses, including new options Enterprise and Horticulture

*All students take: English, Mathematics and Science.

*Students elect three extra subjects including new options Accounting, Economics, History, Geography, Chemistry and Physics

Year Twelve

*All students take English

*Students elect five extra subjects including new options Biology, Classical Studies, Computer Science, Marketing and Management, Media Studies, Painting, Photography and the Gateway class for students who are leaving at the end of the year.

Year Thirteen

*Students elect five subjects including new options History of Art, Calculus, Statistics and Sports Leadership

* Hamilton (for Patrick Hamilton) The Red House.
* Chalmers (for Thomas Chalmers) The Blue House.
* Cargill (for Donald Cargill). The Green House.

The house symbols are a bell, robin, fish and a tree respectively.

Several high performance sports personalities have attended Saint Kentigern. The school has a tennis and golf academy for students who excel in the two sports respectively. Saint Kent's has dominated tennis, golf and triathlon competitions in the last decade.Fact|date=January 2008 The school 1st XI cricket team is competitive in the Auckland 1A competition. Tennis at Saint Kentigern College in 2008 is currently in a very strong position led by coach Peter Langsford, with the Senior Boys Team being crowned New Zealand Secondary Schools Champions for the third consecutive year at the 2007 national championships. Rugby

Saint Kentigern College is a very proud rugby school, producing All Blacks such as Joe Rokocoko, John Afoa and Jerome Kaino, all members of the champion 2001 1st XV now members of the Blues, Auckland rugby and 2008 All Blacks team. The 1st XV was relegated from 1A in 2003, but promoted back to the premier grade in 2005 after going undefeated in the 1B competition.
