Brisbane Forest Park

Brisbane Forest Park, which is located on part of the D'Aguilar Range, is a large nature reserve on the western boundary of the City of Brisbane, bordering on the Mount Coot-tha Reserve. Brisbane Forest Park supports a huge variety of plants and animals and is essential to their survival. The entrance to Brisbane Forest Park is located in the Brisbane suburb of The Gap.

The Walk-About Creek Wildlife Centre (at the Mount Nebo Road, The Gap entrance to Brisbane Forest Park) has an information and education centre for Australian wildlife, a large walk-through aviary, aquariums and enclosures for wildlife (including a special section for Australian nocturnal animals).

Australian wildlife on display at the Walk-About Wildlife Centre includes several species of Australian native birds, a Platypus, Sugar Glider, Wallabies, Pademelons, Wombat, Yellow-bellied Glider, Spotted Quoll, Brush-tailed Phascogale, Snakes, Lizards, Turtles and various species of fish (including Lungfish).

Brisbane Forest Park is accessible by car, as well as by Brisbane Transport's BUZ route 385 to The Gap from the CBD, hourly during off-peak times, when Brisbane Forest Park is the final stop (at all other times, Enoggera Reservoir is the final stop on the bus route).
