Admiral of the Fleet (Royal New Zealand Navy)

Admiral of the Fleet (Royal New Zealand Navy)

His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh was created Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1954, following the coronation of Her Majesty the Queen. He is not an Admiral merely in his capacity as Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal Navy - New Zealand, like Australia, maintains a separate rank.
