Barkingside is a place in the London Borough of Redbridge, East London. It is a suburban development.

Barkingside was historically part of Essex until 1965, when the Greater London boroughs were created. It is home to schools including Ilford County High School and King Solomon High School. Barkingside is chiefly known for the children's charity Barnardo's, the charity that was founded here 1866; it is in Barkingside where the charity's national headquarters are based. Some of the oldest buildings in Barkingside include the Barnardo's chapel, the underground station which was originally an Edwardian mainline station when the steam trains came there and [http://www.eastlondonchurch.co.uk Holy Trinity Church] which dates from 1840.

Many of the buildings along the A123 "Barkingside High Street" are owned by entrepreneur Alan Sugar.Fact|date=October 2007 Former footballer Trevor Brooking attended Ilford County High School. At the northern end of the "High Street" is Fullwell Cross roundabout, giving its name to the adjacent swimming baths and distinctive circular library, as well as the neighbourhood bordering the northwest of Barkingside proper.
