Sutton Coldfield College

Sutton Coldfield College is further education college and specialist sixth form centre. Its main campus is in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England. It is one of the largest sixth form colleges in Britain. The college merged with North Birmingham College, now the Great Barr campus, on August 1 2003, [" [http://www.opsi.gov.uk/SI/si2003/20031293.htm The North Birmingham College (Dissolution) Order 2003] ", 2003-05-19.] and merged with Josiah Mason College (JMC) in August 2006. In 2005, the new Sixth Form Centre, designed by SMC Hickton Madeley Architects, was completed. Also recently completed is an Amenities Building and a new entrance to the Design Centre. As part of the campus, there are several 17th century buildings, including the Grade II* listed Moat House, the former home of architect William Wilson.

The college also has smaller campuses at various other locations, including two others in Sutton Coldfield with a Design Centre and an IT Centre. As well as one in Erdington and Castle Vale.

Future

Sutton College has submitted plans to merge with Matthew Boulton College and, if successful, will become operational in December 2008. The new institution will have 25,000 students and will be run by Christine Braddock, the current Principal of Sutton Coldfield College and Matthew Boulton College.
