Lyn Brown (journalist)

Lyn Brown (journalist)

Lyn Brown is a retired African American anchorwoman. She first started her career in 1984 with CNN for four years before joining CBS News. In 1990, she moved to WNYW-TV, where she anchored weekday mornings.

In 2004, Brown was moved to the evening shift, alongside Rosanna Scotto and Ernie Anastos. Often, Brown would serve as replacement for either Scotto or Anastos, on the 5 and 10PM shows. She was one of the anchors reporting during the Hurricane Katrina Disaster and the death of Pope John Paul II, directly from Vatican City. Brown also covered for Rosanna from London during the London Bombings in July 2005. All the while, Brown continued to solo-anchor Midday", alongside meteorologist Mike Woods.

Brown and Anastos were replaced in January 2006 by Rick Folbaum and Dari Alexander. Brown returned to Good Day New York for the 7-9AM hours. She continued to anchor Midday solo.

Brown left WNYW on June 30, 2006 for unknown reasons. Lucy Noland succeeded her as host of "Fox 5 Midday".
