Leopold Heinrich Fischer was a German
zoologistand mineralogistborn 19 December 1817at Fribourg-en-Brisgauand died 2 February 1886in the same town.He was the son of d’Aloys Fischer. He studied medicineat Fribourg-en-Brisgau but also at Vienna. Fischer practised medicine in Freiburg-in-Brisgau and from 1845 taught zoology and mineralogy there.
