Everybody Wins

Everybody Wins

"Everybody Wins" is a play written by Arthur Miller, who also wrote the screenplay for the film of the same name directed by Karel Reisz released in 1990 starring Debra Winger and Nick Nolte.

Filmed primarily in Norwich, Connecticut, the film received abysmal reviews. However, Norwich residents were interested and excited to be filmed and to watch the film. Some of the featured sites of filming include: Norwich City Hall, the Norwich Free Academy, the Harbor, Park Church, Canterbury Turnpike, Washington Street and Washington Street Extension, the now-renovated Mobil station, downtown Norwich, as well as many identifiable homes along the city streets of Norwich. In one scene, set in downtown Norwich, against a backdrop of a colorful (yet no longer existing) mural, a notable Norwich family appears. They were paid $200 for their participation. The concluding scene was likely the most anticipated; it features a stately white house on top of a hill off Washington Street Extension.

"Everybody Wins" is a game of skill based on bouncing beer bottlecaps off a coffee table onto the screen area of a television or directly above it. Hitting the screen area results in a 'touchdown' scoring six points for the thrower. A cap bouncing over the television scores a 'field goal' worth three points. If a touchdown is scored, the player sitting to the left of the thrower can elect to steal the extra point by finishing their beer.
