Mohammad Haque

Mohammad "Hawk" Haque (b. 1982-02-24 [ [http://www.applegeeks.com/blog/2008/02/24/happy-birthday-hawk-3/ Ananth wishing Hawk a happy birthday] ] ) is an artist, designer, and programmer who, along with Ananth Panagariya, authors webcomic "Applegeeks".

Haque attended Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland and then the University of Maryland, College Park, where he met Panagariya in an art class his sophomore year. He and Panagariya began Applegeeks in November 2002, with Haque doing most of the illustration work. As the comic gained in popularity, Haque and Panagariya have been guests at anime conventions Otakon, Katsucon and others.

In addition to "Applegeeks", Haque and Panagariya had a 9-page short titled "Seven" published in the graphic novel anthology Disposable Parts. More recently, Haque and Panagariya have produced the short "Disconnect" for City Limits, a graphic novel anthology by [http://www.bluedaymedia.com/Blue Day Media] .

Apart from AppleGeeks, Haque's artwork has appeared in other webcomics and on webcombic merchandise, including a Megatokyo poster, "Penny Arcade's" collectable card game and the cover of "Ctrl+Alt+Del: Vol. 1." Haque graduated from the University of Maryland in May 2006 and works in Washington, D.C. as a designer, illustrator and programmer. He also runs personal site at Hawkstudios [http://www.Hawkstudios.net] .

Reflecting the subject matter of his primary work, Hawk uses a Apple Macintosh computer to do all of his work. He also uses Adobe CS3 and a Wacom Cintiq tablet monitor for his actual artwork. However, he will generally scan in pencils for inking and coloring in Photoshop.
