CYMA

CYMA

CYMA is a Chinese manufacturer which makes airsoft guns, including spring guns and electric guns, and also produce a small range of other products.

Airsoft Guns

CYMA Well makes airsoft guns ranging from spring pistols to MPEGs. CYMA began as a manufacturer of inexpensive spring and electric blow back (EBB) pistols, but has since diversified into the automatic electric pistol (AEP) and rifle (AEG) product ranges. Recently, CYMA made great gains into the airsoft market with products aimed at the airsoft enthusiast.

CYMA's business includes spring and EBB pistols. CYMA's pistols are in direct competition with pistols made by KWA, UHC, etc. They tend to be comparable in performance with other inexpensive airsoft spring and EBB pistols.

CYMA's main products center around mid priced electric guns(MPEG). These 1:1 scale weapons are much less expensive than the premium guns from Classic Army and Tokyo Marui, which makes them very attractive to enthusiasts. These weapons often tend to be partial or full copies of premium guns. CYMA guns, usually include a variety of features that are normally only associated with higher-end guns, such as adjustable hop-up and high-capacity magazines. CYMA's MPEGs have gained reputation as each new generation is released.

As of mid 2005, CYMA had apparently abandoned the low-end AEG market and have now been known to be aiming towards the higher-end market. In recent times, CYMA has been known to "clone" designs from well-known makes such as Tokyo Marui, and more recently, Classic Army.

The first of these "clone" releases was the CM.027-J, a Tokyo Marui MP5A5 copy. One should note that although the CM.027-J is a near-direct copy of Tokyo Marui's original design, a few parts, including its aluminum-constructed inner barrel, are not compatible with the original Tokyo Marui model. The CM.027-J changed the way the airsoft community viewed CYMA, which had before then been identified as a maker of lower performance spring and EBB guns. The CM.027-J has been reported to fire at around 300 fps (with 0.2g BBs) and boasts a high percentage of metal content. Released along with the CM.027-J were the CM.028 and CM.028S. The CM.028 and CM.028S are almost direct copies of Tokyo Marui's AK47 and AK47S, differing mainly in build quality. The CM.028 series uses a 450mm barrel combined with the same motor as the CM.027-J, resulting in a more accurate AEG. However, the barrel is made of aluminum, and, like the CM.027-J, the hop-up chamber will need to be replaced before a tightbore barrel will fit.

Some time after these two releases, CYMA made a copy of the TM Glock G18C AEP, called the CM.030. It is a 100% clone to the TM version, except for its trademarks and its included higher-rated battery. Shortly after releasing the CM.030, CYMA released the CM.031, a clone of Classic Army's SLR-105 (itself a replica of a civilian, US/Romanian made AK-74 copy under the same designation). It has arrived to US retailers just recently. It is the exact clone (externally) of the CA, but made out of sturdy plastic instead of metal bodies. It has received generally good reviews for its performance and build quality.

As well as this, even more recently CYMA has released it's acclaimed CM032 series, which is M14s, coming in several different colours as well as SOCOM and standard versions. Also, they've come out with a Thompson, an exact clone of the Tokyo Marui, and they've ventured out farther and began to make their own guns with the coming of the wood and plastic versions of the CM036, which is an AKM, and surprisingly shoots 450FPS with it's reinforced gearbox and powerful spring. Recently as well, they've updated their original moneymaker, the 028, with a real wood and full metal version called the 042, though it sells at a much higher price.
