Paolo Negro

Paolo Negro (born 16 April 1972 in Arzignano, Vicenza) is an Italian football (soccer) player, in the role of defender, who is currently unattached.

A youth player for Brescia until 1989, Negro joined Bologna F.C. 1909 the next year, and had his Serie A debut against Genoa 1893 on 28 October 1990. He played two seasons for Bologna, and then another one for Brescia, before joining S.S. Lazio of Rome, in which he played from 1993-2005.

Having joined A.C. Siena in 2005, Paolo scored a dramatic 85th-minute goal for them to defeat Lazio 2-1 on the final day of the 2006-07 season; without it Siena would have been relegated to Serie B instead of A.C. Chievo. He is also famous for an unlucky own goal scored against the main team of the city, Roma, on 17 December 2000. He left Siena in July 2007.

In 1994 he had his debut for the Italy national football team, in a match against Croatia. Negro played eight times with the "azzurri", and he was selected in Italy's national team for the 2000 European Football Championship.
