Tourism in Puerto Rico

Tourism has been an important money revenue industry for Puerto Rico for a very long time. Because Puerto Rico is host to diverse natural wonders, cultural and historical buildings, concerts and sporting events, the island attracts a wide variety of tourists.

The fact that visitors from the United States do not need a passport to enter Puerto Rico attracts a large number of tourists from the mainland United States each year. Other groups of tourists that visit Puerto Rico in large numbers include Mexicans, Dominicans, Venezuelan, Spaniards, French and Asian tourists.

*Aguadilla: site of old Ramey AFB, now a local airport
*Arecibo: site of the famous Arecibo radio observatory
*Bayamón:, site of the Science Park
*Cabo Rojo: site of beautiful beaches.
*Cataño: home of Bacardi, the world's largest rum distillery.
*Culebra: an island in itself is home to beautiful solitary beaches such as Flamenco beach
*Fajardo: home of the Fajardo Lighthouse and its luminicent bay, Las Croabas fishing village, the Paso Fino horse national competition ring and the beautiful seven seas beach
*Mayagüez: home of the Dr. Juan A. Rivero Zoo and a local beer brewery
*Ponce: home of the Ponce Museum of Art, Castillo de Serralles, Hacienda Juanita coffee plantation museum, and the Old Firehouse in the main square of the town.
*San Juan: home of Old San Juan, the Puerto Rican Museum of Art, El Morro Castle and many more points of great interest
*Trujillo Alto: home of Lake Carraizo Dam
*Rio Grande: home of El Yunque National Rain Forest
*Vieques: an island in itself is home to gorgeous beaches, Spanish Castles and beautiful mountains
