Caribair is an airline based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It operates scheduled services within the Dominican Republic and to Haiti, as well as charter flights and air taxi services throughout the Caribbean. Its main base is La Isabela International Airport, Santo DomingoFlight International 3 April 2007] .

History

The airline was established and began operations in 1983. It began operations with two aircraft and changed ownership in 1988.Accidents
*February 7, 2008, A Caribair flight crashed close to La Romana, when their engines shut down. There are no fatal victims, but the pilot had some injures. The aircraft was a Britten Norman Islander BN-2A, registred as HI-653, and departed from Cibao International Airport to Punta Cana International Airport via La Romana International Airport at 6 pm. There is a commission to investigate this accident.

Destinations

Caribair operates services to the following international scheduled destinations (at January 2005): Port-au-Prince and Santiago de Cuba.

Caribair currently flies to 26 destinations in 9 countries, including Aruba, the Bahamas, Haiti, Netherlands Antilles, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, and some Scheduled Charter Flights to many states of United States.

Domestics destinations include all airports in Dominican Republic (Internationals and Nationals). This Airline is the most expanded in the country, it cover all national airports and makes connections within the DR.

Caribair is the Parent company of the haitian airline Caribintair. Caribair have 6 aircraft in leasing for this airline, that is operating domestics flights in Haiti, as well as some international flights to Santo Domingo and Santiago, Dominican Republic. They also operates charter flights into Barahona and Dajabon.All caribintair flights are codeshared by Caribair.
