Nivedita Jain (Kannada: ನಿವೇದಿತ ಜೈನ್) was a beauty contestant and film actress who appeared in Kannada films. Jain was crowned Miss Bangalore in 1994.[1]

On May 18, 1998, Jain received serious head injuries after falling off the parapet wall of the terrace on the second floor of her home located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar Bangalore. She had been practicing catwalking in preparation for the Miss India beauty contest,[2] as she had intended a return to modeling[3] after her last 8 films had not done well.[4] The following day, May 19, it was reported she had briefly regained consciousness but remained incoherent and her condition was considered critical.[5] She lapsed into a coma,[2] and for 24 days remained on life support as doctors skilled general medicine, neurology, homeopathy, reiki and mehakari treated her for severe head injuries and multiple fractures. While she was hospitalized, Her father, hoping it would bring good fortune and help her recover from her coma, renamed her Nivedita Rinki.[4]

On June 11, 1998, she died from her injuries.[6]
